| | The Mines Ministers agreed in August 2006 that regulatory efficiency is a priority for the mineral industry's competitiveness. The Ministers tasked a Sub-Group to the Inter-Governmental Working Group (IGWG) with identifying specific initiatives that could produce increased regulatory efficiency, including addressing the need for timelines for regulatory processes. Saskatchewan Industry and Resources was asked to co-ordinate the project. The IGWG Sub-Group will report back to the Mines Ministers in 2007 so that decisions can be taken to improve the overall regulatory efficiency process. |
