Notices: Crown Minerals Withdrawals and Re-openings

A "Crown Reserve" is an area of Crown minerals or Crown mineral lands that has been withdrawn from mineral dispositioning for purposes other than Land Claim Selections.  Ministerial Orders withdrawing such areas from, or re-opening such areas to, mineral dispositioning can be found here.

Among other things, a Crown Reserve may be established in a given area to prevent conflicts in mineral resource development or to keep mineral dispositioning activity from interfering with future land use.

A "Land Claim selection" refers to an area of Crown mineral lands that is subject to an Indian Land Claim selection and is therefore unavailable for mineral dispositioning. Notices that certain Crown mineral lands have been subject to new Land Claim selections, or will be subject to expiring Land Claim selections, can be found here.
